Welcome to Lymphatic Care Specialists, LLC
Welcome to Lymphatic Care Specialists, LLC (LCS). We are so glad you have found this site, and we hope you continue to revisit it as we will by updating it regularly.
I am absolutely passionate about lymphatic and lymphedema therapy and education. This is an extremely underserved area in the medical community. Many people do not know what lymphedema is or how it is treated.
Therapies for lymphedema did not become prevalent in the United States until the 1980's. Research and development for these treatments reached a peak in the 1950's in Europe. What a revelation! To think that this whole-body system finally received recognition for its importance 500 to 700 years after most anatomy studies were done and body systems recognized.
The lymphatics are important to your body's immune function. "Good cells" are created there and “bad cells” are destroyed there and filtered from your body.
There are many applications of manual lymphatic therapy for the body. This site will focus primarily on lymphedema, but please recognize that there are many other applications for this therapy. It is great for sinus trouble, eczema, acne, wrinkles, cellulite, swelling due to surgeries and trauma, burns, swelling and numbness due to dental procedures, vertigo, tinnitus, general circulation/vascular support, and aids in the healing of chronic wounds and ulcerations by supporting the tissues.
What We Do
Lymphatic Care Specialists, LLC is a full-service lymphatic treatment center that provides hands-on manual lymphatic therapy, or MLD, compression bandaging, skin care, education, exercise, and supply of products related to MLD/CDP therapy (including compression stockings), at surprisingly low costs. We are also authorized dealers of CircAid and Reid Sleeve products and we assist with the fitting and ordering of those products. We assist in obtaining lymphedema pumps and custom garments if necessary. Fortunately we can also provide silicone breast prostheses, mastectomy bras and many other products geared toward oncology patients.
Our mission is to make "lymphedema" and "the lymphatic system" words that everyone has at least heard of and words that all people in the medical community know about. Only then will there be enough recognition that research dollars will be allotted toward finding a cure for this disorder. Our training program designed to educate therapists wanting to expand their knowledge of this modality was recognized by the National Lymphedema Network in 2010, and we look forward to continuing to build and expand our programs. If you are interested in attending one of our seminars, please contact us for upcoming dates.
